Tate Walks
A new series presented by Gus Casely-Hayford on SKY Arts entitled Tate Britain’s Great British Walks will feature William Powell Frith on Tuesday 6th June 2017 at 9pm. (William Powell Frith is known for painting the Ramsgate Sands – Life at the Seaside).

The series travels around the country in the company of Danny Baker, Simon Callow, Richard E Grant, Cerys Matthews, Miriam Margolyes and Michael Sheen. Each discovering the landscapes that inspired their favourite paintings, which were chosen from the Tate’s National Collection.

Actor, Writer and Musician, Simon Callow chose painter William Powell Frith’s Derby Day (1856-58). Gus and Simon are propelled back into the entertaining Victorian society painter, infamous for his crowd scenes packed with social stereotypes.

The episode will be aired on SKY Arts on Tuesday 6th June 2017 at 9pm.
