Mayor's Charity Committee

Home / Town Council / Mayor's Charity Committee
The Mayor of Ramsgate’s Charity Committee have been in existence for many years working with the Town Mayor of the day raising thousands of pounds which have been given out to local charities and benefited the people of Ramsgate.

The committee are a group of local people who with the current Mayor meet at regular intervals to arrange various charity fund raising events usually one a month. These events vary in activity and price to suit all pockets, please see their ‘Events’ page to see planned events for the near future.

Some of the charities that have received funding recently are Porch Light, Ramsgate Lifeboat, Q.E.Q.M. League of Friends, Ramsgate St John’s Ambulance Brigade, Minster Marshside Scout Camp improvements, Ramsgate Girl Guides, Thanet Volunteer Bureau and Ramsgate Salvation Army.

The Mayor’s Charity events are always held in Ramsgate because they like to support local business and associations and when required they use local artists and individuals to entertain guests at functions.

The Mayor’s Charity has a Constitution which is reviewed annually and is non-political no matter which party the Mayor as a councillor supports and what political party the Ramsgate Town Council represents.

The Mayor’s Charity Committee are happy to receive any enquiries about the charity and will welcome any requests about joining the committee. We would also welcome any support from local businesses such as gifts that could be used as raffle prizes and any sponsorship they can provide.
