I took on the role of Ramsgate’s Town Promoter at the beginning of 2016 and have thoroughly enjoyed my first six months in post. I have lived and run a business in Ramsgate for 10 years and in that time I have become increasingly involved in the community, more so than in any other town I have lived in. I have to say, and many of my customers would agree, the residents and businesses in Ramsgate are among the friendliest people I have ever met! I love living here and feel privileged to have such an active role in our town.
The work is varied and enables me to meet and work closely with key stakeholders in our town from large and small businesses to voluntary organisations. One of my key roles is to work with local independent businesses so that we, as a business community can support one another, share ideas and help to make Ramsgate the best it can be.
I run a facebook closed group page for small businesses based in Ramsgate which currently has over 180 members and we also meet every month to discuss ways to improve the shopper’s and visitor’s experience when they visit out town.

I also help to promote Ramsgate as a great place to live, work, visit and invest in and I sit on many committees where we try to achieve just that. Over the next six months, we will be creating a ‘Visit Ramsgate’ and an ‘Invest in Ramsgate’ website so that the world can see what a fantastic place this is!
I have made contact with around 200 businesses since taking on the role so many of you will have my details but if anyone has any suggestions, would like to meet up or be included on our new websites, please get in touch.
Look forward to working with you!
