You can’t visit Ramsgate without coming into contact with the sea. There’s a whole raft (sorry!) of ways to get active in the water, and visitors will have a hard time choosing what to do!

For example, did you know that Ramsgate is a record breaking kitesurfing destination?

Leading kitesurfing champion Lewis Crathern headed to Ramsgate Sands, and jumped a whopping 22.3 metres high, smashing his own British record in the process.

Ramsgate is now somewhat of a kitesurfing haven, and every year, hundreds flock to the beach to take advantage of the perfect weather conditions.

Ramsgate now offers the chance for visitors to book and take part in kitesurfing lessons on the beautiful Ramsgate coast.

So if you want to give it a go for the first time or book intermediate or personal lessons then all you need to do is to contact Graham at Kite Pirates Kite School or Thanet Diving and Watersports.

All equipment is provided, so all you need to do is to book, turn up and hope it’s a windy day!

But there’s not just kitesurfing on offer, but Thanet Diving and Watersports also offers other ways to experience the beautiful coastal waters.

For example, you can get out and about with the team to learn scuba diving. Whether you are a beginner or want to get involved with dives that are suitable for more experienced divers, then there are options available for all.

Likewise, paddleboarding is also another option, the waters around Ramsgate are perfect for anyone looking to paddleboard. It’s so much fun!

So, for more information, give Thanet Diving and Watersports a call, or a visit, they can be found at the Arches or call them on 07981 551922.

“Had a great introduction session to scuba diving thanks to winning a place via Active Ramsgate. Thanks Terry for a great session, look forward to organising another one soon!”
Craig Mather, Scuba Diving, Active8 Week

“The session was fun! The two PADI instructors talked us through all the equipment and hand signals very clearly. Scuba diving for the first time felt quite magical, and I even plucked up the courage to try the 'remove the air tube under water' exercise! It was a little crowded in the pool, and it was good not to be the only scuba virgin there.”
John Lake, Scuba Diving, Active8 Week

“Tilly loved the scuba diving she did not want to get out. Instructor was good with all the kids. Tilly now wants to do it on a regular basis.”
