Over the past few months you may have seen a familiar face on the streets, shores and cliff-tops of Ramsgate. Meteorologist Kaddy Lee-Preston has been out and about enjoying all that Ramsgate has to offer, soaking up views, tasting the food and enjoying the sights of the town by bike, foot and canoe!
A Ramsgate Ramble
First up, Kaddy took on the Town Rounders walk
, a chance to stroll around the fabulously quirky coastal town of Ramsgate on this 3.4 mile walk.
Rambling past the fantastic selection of independent shops, restaurants and magnificent architecture, Kaddy enjoyed sampling the delicious food Ramsgate has to offer and seeing the sights and attractions of the town.
With the arrival of her little one, Kaddy might not be heading off on any long distance walks in the countryside any time soon, but she’s already looking forward to trying out more Ramsgate wanders, perfect for stopping off along the way to enjoy steaming mugs of hot chocolate and good food.
A Sky Ride in Ramsgate
“I’m thrilled to be supporting such a wonderful initiative; getting active outdoors is one of my great passions. I can’t think of a better way to get out and about and enjoy the stunning scenery and natural beauty our coastline has to offer”
Kaddy Lee-Preston, Local TV Presenter
A visit to Ramsgate has to include a spin along the Viking Coastal Trail
, Thanet’s pride and joy, and Kaddy Lee-Preston did it in style on one of Ramsgate’s leisurely guided group Sky Rides. To Broadstairs and back, Kaddy took on a 12 mile Sky Ride passing bays, beaches, cliff-tops and rolling countryside and then back to Ramsgate to relax in one of the waterfront bars and cafes.
If you have missed the Sky Rides, you can still take in the scenery from the saddle; break up the Viking Coastal Trail route into manageable sections and you too could be pedalling across the chalky cliff-tops.
Sea, Seals, the River Stour…and Kaddy
But the best is yet to come for Kaddy. Next spring she’s hoping to take to a canoe to try out Ramsgate’s brand new 6.8 mile canoe trail from Ramsgate to beautiful Sandwich.
It’ll be a chance to spot some of the seals that bask on the banks of the River Stour and be amazed at the diversity of birdlife that enjoys the waters around the Sandwich and Pegwell Bay National Nature Reserve.
Want to hear more about what Kaddy’s been up to in Ramsgate? Over the next few months she’ll be writing a column in the Thanet Gazette
, telling us all about the latest thrills and spills of being the face of Active Ramsgate.
